ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 01, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Advanced Photonix, Inc.® (AMEX: API) announced today that it has entered into a multi-year strategic agreement with a leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer located in central Europe for 10Gb/s and 40Gb/s high-speed optical receivers, with initial shipments valued at more than $1,000,000 over the next 12 months. API's line of 10Gb/s high-speed optical receivers are packaged in an industry standard small form factor (SFF) 17 pin package and come in either PIN or Avalanche Photodiode (APD) semi-conductor structure. Both the OC192 (10Gb/s) and OC 768 (40Gb/s) products are Telcordia GR-468 qualified. API's suite of optical receivers is suitable for use in the telecommunication market for both transmission and test and measurement applications.
